World Bank Business Ready (B-Ready) replaces the discontinued Doing Business methodology. Country coverage is being expanded incrementally, not every country has a current B-Ready score yet, so absent countries should not be interpreted as low-scoring. The B-Ready labor-market indicator integrates statutory and de-facto operational dimensions across hiring, working time, and severance, the composite score balances these differently than the OECD or ILO indicators, so cross-source comparison is informative but not directly substitutable. Sub-indicator coverage (notice periods at different tenure thresholds, severance pay at multiple tenure points, trial-period maximums, weeks-to-dismiss) gives a thicker picture than the single composite; the rankings table surfaces these sub-metrics under their own metric tags. Year-over-year comparison requires checking the methodology vintage applied to each refresh.
